THREE men have appeared in court charged with murder.
Nadeem Rashid, 20, of Horbury, Arron Smith, 18, of Emley, and Jo Church, 21, of Mirfield, are accused of killing Joshua Hirst.
Mr Hirst, 20, died from stab wounds after he was found on Hepworth Lane, Mirfield, on Friday night.
Police were called at around 11pm and Mr Hirst was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where he died from his injuries.
Rashid, of Lapwing View, Horbury, Smith, of Saville Street, Emley and Church, of Redlands Close, Mirfield have all been remanded in custody.
They are expected to appear before Leeds Crown Court next week.
Dozens of bunches of flowers have been laid at the spot where Mr Hirst was found, just yards from his home in Grove Street.
Neighbour Julian Bruce said Joshua lived with his parents Terry and Julie.
He said: “He was a really, really great lad – both Josh and his brother John.
“Every time you saw him, he had a smile on his face. He always had time to speak to you.”
A book of remembrance for Joshua has been opened at St Mary’s Church in Mirfield.
A fourth defendant, Kirstie Rainford, appeared at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with two counts of assisting an offender.
The 22-year-old, of Springbank Drive, Liversedge, was also remanded in custody and will also appear at Leeds Crown Court next week.
