A Horbury pub is going Stateside this bank holiday.

The Cricketers Arms, on Cluntergate, is staging its annual Yankeefest with ale, music and food from noon on Friday until 11pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

Landlord Jim Ibeson said: “We will have 24 American style, themed cask beers from some of the best independent breweries across the UK such as Arbor Ales (Bristol), Tiny Rebel (Wales) and Hawkshead (Cumbria).

There will also be seven of the best American craft beers on draught from breweries such as Brooklyn and Anchor, plus a selection of quality American bottled beers will be available all weekend.

“The craft beer scene is thriving in the US right now and more and more UK brewers are taking inspiration from American beer styles.

“This festival is a celebration of American craft beer, and UK brewers that have taken inspiration from across the pond.”

The event will also feature music from Red Dog at 8pm on Saturday, Just John at 7pm on Sunday and Root 45 at 5pm on Monday.

American food will also feature. There will be hot dogs behind the bar all weekend and the usual bar snacks.

The festival is on all bank holiday weekend from Friday, April 29 to Monday, May 2. The opening times are noon until midnight Friday and Saturday and noon to 11pm on Sunday and Monday.
