Three lucky ladies from Wakefield got a sneak preview of the 2012 Olympic Park as a thank you for their work in the community.

Joanna Tolson and June Chivers from Wakefield and District Fibromyalgia Support Group, and Sheena Woodard, from Cycling for All, visited the Olympic Park because of their involvement in the London 2012 Inspire programme.

Supported by Yorkshire Gold, an organisation which encourages Olympic participation, the projects were given the Inspire Mark, recognising that they were inspired by London 2012.

Garry Verity, chairman of Yorkshire Gold, said: “We have seen some truly inspirational people develop projects to engage their community in the lead up to London 2012 and we hope that this trip has inspired them to carry on their invaluable work.”
