This week is the last chance for women who want to sign up for the Race for Life.
The 10k and 5k event is at Thornes Park on Sunday, June 1.
The closing date for applications is on Thursday, May 29, and there are still places available.
Sarah Threadgall, event manager for Race for Life in Yorkshire, said: “We are very grateful to the women who have already entered Race for Life in Wakefield.
“But we still have places left so we are urging women to sign up as soon as possible.”
The women-only events are run in partnership with Tesco and take place across the country to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading cancer charity.
In 2013, 2,000 women took part in Race for Life in Wakefield and raised £100,000.
This year, both the 5k and 10k runs are at 10.30am and start line is on the field closest to the Horbury Road entrance, opposite the athletics stadium.
The event is also in need of volunteers to help out on the day.
