Pupils and staff at Outwood Grange Academy have vowed to raise money in memory of a much loved teacher.
Dawn Buckley was just 36, when she died on April 29 after a long battle with cancer.
The maths teacher had worked at the Potovens Lane school for 14 years.
Students and staff are now planning a range of fundraisers and lasting tributes, including a ‘wear pink’ day for breast cancer research and a tree planting ceremony, as well as bake sales for Wakefield Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Care.
Acting principal Sabiha Laher added: “Staff at the academy are also keen to produce a ‘memory book’ that we can then present to Dawn’s family which will include all the wonderful memories that we have of her at Outwood Grange Academy.”
