Letter - What about a President

Have your say

If elected mayors are such a good idea why don’t Cameron, Clegg and co go for an elected president to run the country.

In France the electoral turn out for the presidential election was over 70 per cent.

Rationally British politicians want none of this, so why push powerful elected mayors onto the rest of us.

What are they afraid of? An elected dictator perhaps.
