Have your say

Having read today’s Wakefield Express and feeling proud that Barbara Hepworth was born, bred and educated in Wakefield, I felt very sad that local neon artist Richard Wheater had his planning application turned down (Express 20th May page 7)

If the planning committee did a survey of regular train travellers’ opinions they would realise what a feel-good factor his artwork gives to passengers travelling to and through Wakefield.

It would be a blot on the city’s perceived focus on art and culture for his talent not to be recognised.

How about ‘Welcome to Wakefield’?
