£30K boost for town heritage trust work
The trust is currently working on a project to restore the town’s historic Queen’s Mill site.
And it has won a £15,000 grant from the Postcode Community Trust to spend on work to create a heritage museum on the second floor of the building.

Alison Drake, chairwoman of the trust, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the way the mill looks now and we have had really good feedback.
“It used to look really derelict but it’s attractive now.
“We have some fantastic volunteers in all the areas where we work and a great maintenance, shop and revenue team. This money supports them and will pay for all the equipment and materials.”
The trust plans to use the Postcode grant to revamp the mill’s second floor and create a museum paying tribute to Castleford’s heritage.
