A veteran who suffered a lifetime of health problems after witnessing atomic testing in the 1950s is selling oil paintings for charity.
Leslie Wright, of Harewoood Road, Eastmoor, has made a series of paintings, some of which directly depict his experiences working near Christmas Island, in the South Pacific.
He is one of a group of ex-servicemen who have fighting for compensation from the Ministry of Defence, because they believe their long-term illnesses were caused by exposure to high levels of radiation during the tests.
Mr Wright said he had recently been diagnosed with two forms of cancer.
He is donating the proceeds from his paintings to the Mind mental health charity.
