A dad has roped in his co-workers to take part in a bus pull to raise cash for a memorial bench to his murdered son.

Kieran Butterworth was only 17 years old when he was stabbed to death in February 2013 in Leeds by Ghanu Stout, who is now serving a life sentence.

His dad, Craig Butterworth, and 24 other workers at Card Factory will complete the one-mile pull at Junction 41 Industrial Park on Saturday, March 8.

Mr Butterworth, 42, of Havercroft, said: “When Kieran was killed, everyone at work knew how badly it affected me and my family. They were very supportive and wanted to help.”

Afterwards there will be a raffle sponsored by Card Factory and Asda at The Vine Tree on Leeds Road. The bench will be sited in Havercroft. To donate, call 07577 464067.
