Deer decapitated by ‘cruel and vicious’ poachers in Wakefield say police

Latest news...

Latest news...

Poachers decapitated a deer and dumped its head in a field in Woolley.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police’s Wakefield Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team yesterday branded the culprits ‘cruel and vicious’.

They said: “The deer was brutally decapitated and it’s head dumped in a field close to the roadside on Warren Lane.

“The area surrounding Warren Lane, Woolley is a hotspot for lampers and poachers. Please keep your eyes open for this kind of activity and report any suspicious people or vehicles.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or wakefield.rural@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
