Detectives hunt for robbers that threatened family

A FAMILY were threatened by two robbers in their own home.

The robbers burst into the house on Hornbeam Avenue, near Wrenthorpe Park, during the early hours of Sunday morning.

After threatening and injuring their victims, a 64-year-old and a 16-year-old, the robbers left with jewellery and a mobile phone.

Detectives said the first suspect was 5ft 8 ins tall and chubby.

He was wearing a balaclava, jeans and a baseball jacket.

The second suspect was taller and thinner than the other man.

He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a grey baseball jacket.

DS Jason Jowett, of Wakefield CID, said: “The incident happened at the time when revellers would have been returning home after Saturday night.

“There is a chance that someone might have seen something suspicious that could help the investigation.”
