GNG Group of Wakefield donates coats for Syrian refugees

A Wakefield business has been collecting coats to help Syrian refugees.

GNG Group of Wakefield donated more than 160 coats to Syria Relief through the Country Coats To Syria initiative.

The clothing was collected from staff, family and friends. They will be handed out at refugee camps in Syria to displaced families, after many were forced to flee from their homes with only the clothes they were wearing.

The refugees have also faced zero temperatures during the harsh winter in the country, so the coats could mean the difference between life and death, especially for the many children facing life in the camps.

The Country Coats To Syria initiative offers a practical response to the humanitarian crisis in Syria by organise collections of coats from groups and organisations who have a coat or coats to spare.
