Man cut free from car after accident in Featherstone

An elderly man had to be cut from his car after an accident in Featherstone today.

Fire crews from Normanton and Pontefract were called to scene of the accident on Station Lane at around 11.50am.

Watch commander Steve Blezard, from Normanton fire station, said: “A Nissan Qashqai was on its side when we got there and an elderly male had to be cut free from the car.

“He was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from minor injuries from where the car had flipped onto its side.”
