Man locked up for attacking a woman at Thornes Park

Jamie Bedford-Taylor.

A teenager has been locked up for a total of three years for attacking a woman in Thornes Park.

Jamie Bedford Taylor, 18, was originally charged with kidnapping the woman on August 11 but that charge was dropped at an earlier hearing.

Bedford Taylor admitted assault with intent to rob and breaching an anti-social behaviour order (Asbo). He also admitted separate offences of possession of M-Cat and possession of two blades in Lupset seven days later.

He was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court yesterday and given two years’ detention for the assault offence, eight months consecutive for possession of the blades and four months consecutive for breaching his Asbo. Det Insp Lester Lee, of Wakefield CID, said afterwards: “I welcome the sentence in this case and hope that the victim can take some comfort in knowing he is now behind bars.”
