A 68-year-old man died outside a take-away.
Police were called to Amigos Fresh Pizza, on Station Lane, in Featherstone, on Wednesday afternoon.
The man was unconscious when they arrived.
Despite the efforts of officers, paramedics and members of the public, he died at the scene.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called at 2.2pm on Wednesday. The man appeared to have fallen down a stairwell outside a pizzeria.
“It is believed he died as a result of a medical condition. There were no suspicious circumstances.”
