Met Office issues yellow weather warning for Yorkshire

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to hit the region this afternoon.

The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ warning with up to 30mm of rain possible in some areas.

The Met Office said: “Heavy, slow moving and possibly thundery showers are likely on Friday.

“The public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding.”

The warning will be in place between 10am to 8pm today (Friday).
