A peregrine falcon has been spotted near Wakefield Cathedral today (Wednesday).
Birdwatcher Mick Hemingway saw the bird of prey at lunchtime when it was halfway down the spire.
Mr Hemingway has seen the bird a number of times this month in the vicinity of the cathedral.
Peregrines have now become a familiar sight in cities such as Sheffield and Derby where they have taken a shine to ledges on religious buildings and the pigeon population.
Have you seen this majestic bird winging it down the Kirkgate precinct or got any pictures of it?
