Road works on Denby Dale Road, Wakefield are causing long tailbacks.

Temporary lights will be in place on Durkar Lane, in Crigglestone, at the junction with St James Way, until Friday, December 13.

Temporary lights will be in place on Standbridge Lane, outside Kettlethorpe High School, for about two weeks while traffic lights are upgraded.

Temporary lights will be in place on Lingwell Gate Lane, in Lofthouse, under the M1 motorway bridge, until Friday, December 20 so that work can be done to the bridge.

The road will be closed at that point on Thursday, December 12, Friday, December 13 and Monday, December 16, from 9.30am until 3.30pm each day.

When the road is closed, traffic will be diverted along Potovens Lane, Leeds Road and Long Thorpe Lane.

Temporary lights will be in place on Storrs Hill Road, in Ossett, on monday and Tuesday, for resurfacing work.

Temporary lights will be in place on Church Street, in Ossett, at the junction with Meadow View, until Monday, for emergency repairs to an electric main.

Temporary lights will be in place on Aberford Road, in Stanley, from numbers 499 to 559, for about a week, from 9.30am until 3.30pm each day.

Lee Street, in the city centre, will remain closed until Christmas Eve so that work can be carried out to Wakefield Town Hall.

Ruskin Avenue, in Wakefield, will be closed until Friday, December 13, from 9am until 3.30pm each day, for resurfacing.
