A fire which destroyed a portable building near Horbury Bridge may have been started by rodents chewing through wires.
The fire broke out at Traditional Stone and Slate Supplies in the Old Mill Stoneyard, just off Bridge Road, at around 3am this morning (Saturday 30).
Two fire engines from Ossett managed to put out the blaze in the sales office by around 7am.
Watch Commander Stephen Mitchell said: “The possible cause may be rodents chewing through wires.”
The building was completely gutted.
Mr Mitchell said he understood much of the companies recent paperwork had been destroyed in the incident.
