Sailing away on the crest of a nave - boat moored in Wakefield Cathedral

A boat has been moored inside Wakefield Cathedral to help raise funds for the latest phase of its refurbishment programme.

Canon precentor, Andi Hofbauer, assistant organist, Simon Earl and dog Rufus are preparing to sail around Windermere this summer to raise funds for Project 2015.

They are asking people to pledge fundsraising ideas or donate money to help raise the £2.5m needed to give the landmark’s east end a makeover, with new heating, lighting and clean stonework.
