The sounds of soulful jazz floated across Heath Common on Saturday evening. Jazz by Moonlight at Heath Hall returned for its second year with saxophonist Snake Davis and fun-sized group Fever Trio performing a mixture of original songs and covers.

And the music had the audience on their feet dancing and clapping as the sun went down.

The open-air summer concert was organised by Warmfield-Cum-Heath community fundraising group, which was set up in 2012 to raise money for local charities and causes.

Colin Daley, a member of the group attended the concert.

He said: “It started off a little hazy but by seven o’clock the skies had cleared and it was a beautiful evening for the concert.

“It was a really good night raising money for some fantastic local causes. For the second year running, the evening was a great success.

“I’d like to thank Heath Hall owners, Vivienne and Tony Hodges, for their generous hospitality.”

This year’s main charities were Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Community Awareness Programme.
