Superman, Snow White and Minnie Mouse were just a few of the characters taking part in a fundraising dance.

The Dress Up and Dance event, hosted by Stagecoach Wakefield, was held at St Thomas a Becket School on Barnsley Road last weekend in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The fundraising event was attended by Tom Hacker who is running six marathons in six days for the charity in August.

Katie Firth, organiser and owner of Stagecoach Wakefield, said: “We had a brilliant weekend raising £142 for Macmillan cancer support.

“All the children turned up in fantastic outfits and all staff and students had a ball.”

Theatre arts school Stagecoach’s next event is from August 4 to 8 when youngsters aged 5-18 will have the opportunity to create a show in a week.

The holiday workshop will then culminate in a performance for people to come watch on the Friday at 6pm, with all the donations going to Macmillan.
