Students at St Michael’s Academy sang a song in Swahili to a special visitor this week.

Bishop Hilkiah of Mara from Tanzania visited the school on Flanshaw Lane, with the Reverend Gill Johnson from Wakefield Diocese.

Headteacher Faz Islam said: “The visit went brilliantly, the children loved it and so did the bishop.

“He had lunch with the school council and was interviewed for the school newspaper.”
