THOUSANDS of new homes will be built across the city after councillors gave final approval to the scheme.
Around 10,000 properties are planned up until 2022 for the Wakefield area in Wakefield Council’s Local Development Framework (LDF) document.
Some of the bigger schemes include 1,200 homes at Snow Hill, 900 homes at the Wakefield East development in Eastmoor, and around 700 at Ashfields, in Normanton.
The document has gone through several years of public consultation and got its final approval at a meeting of full council last Wednesday.
