A Wakefield mum has spoken out about her family’s burglary ordeal, as a campaign calling for tougher sentences for those who target homes with children is launched.

The Take No More Campaign, is being run by the Victim Support Charity, in conjunction with security specialists ADT, after research revealed two in five parents say that their children needed emotional or psychological support following a burglary.

A separate survey of young burglary victims showed the impact on children may often be greater than even their parents realise.

The charity says children whose homes have been burgled are more likely to struggle at school and have trouble sleeping. Wakefield mum Sheree describes the effect it had on her children in this video.
