Cannabis farms in Lupset and St John’s Square have been shut down by police.

Officers from the Central neighbourhood police team (NPT) raided three houses on Roundwood Rise, Lupset, on Sunday where they seized a “substantial” amount of the class B drug.

A 59-year-old man was charged with producing cannabis and driving with excess alcohol.

And two men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and both were released on bail pending further enquiries.

On Friday another cannabis farm was busted in St John’s Square at around 1pm.

A small number of plants were seized by the NPT.

A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and released on bail pending further enquiries.
