Members of Westgate Cheerleaders left their competitors from all over the UK in a spin during the Great Britain Baton Twirling Association (GBBTA) end of year championships in Oldham.

They competed in dance twirl and dance poms.

And, out of a possible 30 different sections, Westgate Cheerleaders took home 21 first places, eight second places and one third place.

It meant every leader, mascot or troupe finished in the top three in both disciplines. The junior pom squad performed an almost faultless routine of dance and gymnastics on the theme of Christmas, scoring 99 points out of 100.

And, for the second year running, the club won the adjudicators’ trophy for ‘Most Entertaining Troupe’.
