Businesses can win £10k in Wakefield Express scheme

THE Express today launches a scheme to boost the district economy by offering support to three of the area’s most promising businesses.

Local Business Accelerators will see three small firms earn a fantastic free advertising package with the Express and exclusive support from leading district business figures.

The bold initiative, launched by the Newspaper Society and backed by Dragons’ Den star Deborah Meaden, will see local press publications join forces to promote the strength and value of local newspapers for businesses and communities.

And one of our three winners will be put forward for a national contest to win support from Deborah Meaden, plus a £10,000 cash prize.

Express editor Mark Bradley said: “Last year’s winning businesses reaped the benefit of a free advertising campaign and also some help from three of the district’s key players in economic terms.

“It proved a great opportunity for fledgling businesses to showcase their ambition and we want to find more.”

The Express is searching for Wakefield’s most promising young businesses to
enter.

It’s open to all businesses that are active in the local community, between one and three years old and full of potential.

They may have a great idea or product, or have even found a new market.

They’re the kind of businesses that will create new jobs and individually they will create pride in the community.

If you run such a business, or know anyone who does, and want the chance to receive invaluable business support and advertising space in the Express, visit www.accelerateme.co.uk for more information on the scheme and how to enter.

The closing date is Friday, November 16.

Last year, Dawn Scott from Satori Complementary Therapy Centre, Gareth Hunt from Copiserv, IOS (Yorkshire) Ltd, and Tony and Jean Sykes from Deli Central won our Business Accelerators scheme after a gruelling presentation in front of our judging panel.
