FAMILY LUNCH CLUB: The lunch club will be open today at St George's healthy living centre, where you can buy a three-course meal for 3 (1.50 for under 12s). Transport is available for people living in Lupset for 1.

HOSPICE: The Lupset and Thornes Fundraising Group is holding a garden party at the home of Gill Holt, 128 Thornleigh Avenue, Thornes tomorrow from 11am to 3pm. Raffle, tombola, cake stall, books, games, soft toys. Admission is 50p and everybody is welcome.

OPEN DAY: Alan and Katharine Vautrey are holding their Annual Open Day at 19 The Mount, Thornes tomorrow from 10.30am-5pm, Lunches will be served from 12 noon. Proceeds this year are for Help for Heroes and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

SUMMER FAIR: Lawefield Primary School, Lawefield Lane will be having their summer fair tomorrow from 11am-2pm. There will be various stalls and activities, including a visit from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats' Mascot Daddy Cool

HERITAGE WALK: There will be

a heritage walk starting at the new Hepworth Gallery on Saturday, July 17 at 3pm. Join local historian John Whitaker to discover how the gallery sheds new light upon the city's past, followed by a screening of Lindsay Anderson's documentary film Wakefield Express, 1952.
