Company nets contract for 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar
The firm, based at Providence Street, will supply engineers to work on road and drainage projects as the country prepares to host the tournament for the first time.
The deal, which will last at least five years, will see M2R expand its workforce to cope with demand as it sources employees for Qatar from around the world.
M2R is working with Ashghal, the public works authority in Qatar, on the deal as the county sees an expansion of investment as it prepares for the FIFA 2022 World Cup.
Managing director Munir Mamujee said the deal would boost Wakefield’s profile as a place to do business.
He said: “This will increase our profile.
“I hope one day this could help bring inward investment to the district.”
M2R has also signed deals to supply English language teachers to China, Zambia and the USA in recent deals.
Mr Mamujee said: “People are starting to realise there is a life outside London, and that you don’t have to go there to deal with a good language recruitment company.”
“This is getting us to areas we have never been before.”
Mr Mamujee said M2R was working with Job Centre Plus to recruit more staff to work on the new contracts.
