Cow caused road smash on M1 near junction 39

AN escaped cow caused a road smash on the M1 last night.

But police could not find the cow - despite an extensive search - which had been wandering near to Woolley Services close to junction 39 at about 10.30pm.

The cow caused a Toyota to swerve and the passenger suffered minor injuries.

Police are warning motorists to drive with caution in the area.
