Eastmoor double murderer expected to be sentenced today
Samantha Sykes
AN ASYLUM seeker who stabbed two teenagers to death in Eastmoor is expected to be sentenced this afternoon.
Ahmad Otak, 19, murdered Samantha Sykes, 18 and Kimberley Frank, 17, at a flat on Barden Road, in Eastmoor, on March 9.
Samantha’s mother, Julie Sykes, told the Express she plans to make a statement afterwards regarding failures by social services in the care of Kimberley, and her 19-year-old sister, Elisa Frank, who was once in a relationship with Otak.
Mrs Sykes, of California Drive, Horbury, said her daughter had been friends with the Frank sisters from an early age and had always tried to help them.
Both Frank girls spent some time in care whilst they were growing up.

Otak, of Linton Road, pleaded guilty to the murders earlier this year at Leeds Crown Court. Log onto www.wakefieldexpress.co.uk for the latest from today’s hearing.
