Finalists revealed

The finalists in the first Wakefield District Business Awards have been named.

Businesses have taken up the challenge to show just how good they are, and now only four finalists in each category remain in the nine awards open to companies and organisations of all sizes across the district.

The awards are supported by first, the Wakefield district development agency, and a host of partners including, Wakefield Council, Wakefield College, VT Environmental Engineering, Barclays, Minster Law, HARIBO, Chadwick Lawrence Solicitors and Business Link Yorkshire.

Mohan de Silva, chief executive of first, said: "We're absolutely delighted with the response we have received for the Wakefield District Business Awards. Our judges have faced an extremely difficult task in choosing our winning companies given the quality and quantity of entries received.

"The awards are a celebration of the individuals and companies who are continuing to succeed despite the difficult economic climate, and who can encourage new businesses to follow in their footsteps."

Winners of the prestigious Wakefield District Business Awards will receive an exclusive trophy, the right to use the winner's logo on all marketing and branding, raised company profile and media spotlight, enhanced reputation and prestige among clients and suppliers as well as a host of otherbenefits.

The awards culminate in a spectacular gala dinner and presentation ceremony at the Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield on Thursday, July 16. See the Express, Friday, July 10 edition, for a supplement featuring all the finalists.
