Firefighters tackle blaze at The Three Houses Inn, Sandal, Wakefield

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a gastro pub in Sandal this morning (Monday).
The fire at The Three Houses Inn was spotted by Wakefield Express Deputy Sports Editor Mark Berry, who took this photo.
He saw billowing smoke coming from the pub on the junction of Barnsley Road and Chevet Lane at 7.40am.
Mr Berry said: “I saw smoke coming out of the windows and was about to call 999 but two fire engines turned up.
“I was there for about 15 to 20 minutes and two more fire engines and a police car arrived.”
Fire crews from Wakefield and Ossett are still at the scene.
