FLOOD alerts have been issued for Wakefield after forecasters predicted more heavy rain for the city.

The Environment Agency issued alerts for Ings Beck, Alverthorpe Beck, Balne Beck and Oakenshaw Beck this morning.

Water levels are expected to peak this afternoon.

A flood alert has also been issued for the River Calder in Castleford.

The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for Yorkshire and the Humber.

It said it was expected to rain throughout most of today.
