Fond farewell to Mrs Simpson
Julia Simpson head teacher at Sandal Magna school is retiring.
THE end of term bell marked the end of an era at Sandal Magna Community Primary School when headteacher Julia Simpson retired.
The 56-year-old had worked at the school for 15 years.
She said one of the highlights was being able to oversee the creation of the new school, which opened it’s doors to pupils in September 2010.
She said: “I have also loved seeing children grow up and move on to high school with all the confidence and skills they need to progress.”
The mum-of-two said she would miss all of the children and her “very talented and supportive staff”.
But she said she was leaving the school in good hands.
Her successor will be deputy headteacher Louise Sennett.
