Help to continue rugby art legacy

editorial image

A WHEELCHAIR-bound artist is calling on rugby supporters to help continue his life long ambition of working with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Since September, Jason Wilsher-Mills has been the club’s artist-in-residence and worked with children across the city, using a tablet computer to create pictures and artwork.

His first piece was unveiled last month and in the new year he will create art from each game using his iPad. The artwork will form part of a 200ft mural along the length of a stand at the team’s Belle Vue stadium.

He will also create 13 portraits based on Trinity legends from the club’s 139-year history.

The project, in partnership with Wakefield Wildcats Community Trust, has been funded by Arts Council England.

But the funding will run out next year and he will need help to continue his community work.
