Shoppers evacuated following gas leak near Trinity Walk in Wakefield

Shoppers were evacuated from Trinity Walk following a gas leak this morning (Wednesday).

Police closed Marsh May, between the Kirkgate roundabout and Jacob’s Well Lane, at 9.13am after a leak was discovered at a containment unit opposite Sainsbury’s.

Trinity Walk was evacuated but shoppers were allowed back in at about 9.45am.
