WAR medals, knives and daggers stolen by burglars could be on sale in the district, detectives have warned.
They have appealed for anyone who has been offered the Second World War service medals, including a ‘39-45 Star’, and weapons to get in touch.
Several other items of sentimental value were taken including a George V sovereign ring, Second World War knives, two German secret service daggers, a necklace, bracelet and wedding rings.
They were stolen during a burglary at a house on Crewe Road, Castleford, between 6.30am and 3.15pm on Friday, December 21.
