Ten arrested in money laundering probe
DETECTIVES have arrested 10 people on suspicion of money laundering and fraud offences.
Homes and businesses in Agbrigg and Sandal were raided this morning. (Wednesday.)
Cash and other items were seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
Det Insp Paul O'Dowd said: "These people have been arrested in relation to a money laundering investigation.
Wakefield District Police have invested money to set up a financial investigation unit to deal with this type of investigation which involves criminal property being converted into cash and made to appear legitimate."
The nine men and one woman are currently being quizzed by detectives at Wood Street.
