Toddler t'ai chi fun for T2 tots
CHINESE New Year celebrations got off to a peaceful start when toddlers learned the ancient art of t'ai chi.
Qualified instructor Janet Taylor visited T2 Playcare, on Manorfield Drive, to teach the two and three-year-olds some top moves to restore their inner peace.
The children were also treated to a taste of the Far East with prawn crackers, lychees, different types of rice and noodles as well as traditional fortune cookies.
They also tried some traditional outfits on for size as they joined in welcoming the new Chinese year last Friday.
Owner and manager of T2 Playcare, Bindy Lucas, said: “The children really enjoyed watching the t’ai chi demonstration and then they had the chance to learn some moves of their own.
“Afterwards they made a Chinese dragon from cardboard, paint and crepe paper and used the balls you use for washing powder for its eyes.
“We also had some help from Joan Wan, the Chinese language teacher from Horbury School, who showed the children how to do Chinese writing.”
