HEARTS were skipping beats today when Olly Murs visited the city.

The former X Factor contestant signed copies of his new book Happy Days at Waterstones in The Ridings Shopping Centre this morning (Tuesday).

Fans camped out over night at the weekend to get one of 300 wrist bands that were required to get into the store and meet him.

Kiera Gibson, of Lindsay Avenue Lupset, was one of the lucky few. The 13-year-old was shaking with excitement when she left the store with her signed book.

She said: “He was so lovely and I even got a kiss.”

Fellow fan Elisabeth Graham, also 13, queued for hours for her wrist band.

She said: “I am ecstatic that I got to meet him. He’s amazing.”

Her grandad John Beaumont was delighted for her. He said: “She’d have been queuing from 6 this morning if we’d let her. I was very impressed with the time he took with Elisabeth. It’s made her day. He’s a really nice bloke.”
