Wakefield dentist James Cooper on BBC MasterChef
Dentist James Cooper is getting his teeth into BBC cookery show MasterChef.
Dr Cooper, who works at the city’s Queen Street Dental Practice, appeared on the show on Wednesday night.
The contest has so far seen contestants asked to taste a pigeon wellington with glazed shallots before recreating the dish without the recipe.
They faced a busy lunch service at London’s Caxton Grill in their first taste of a professional kitchen.
Then it was back to the MasterChef kitchen, where the amateurs had to cook two courses for judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
Dr Cooper will now join the 12 contestants to battle it out in the knock-out stage of the series for the coveted title of MasterChef 2013.
