SPOOKY LIFE

By the winner Alicia Mae Arrowsmith, age 8

Once long ago in an old, dark, cobbled street stood a museum that was once a haunted house! Nobody ever used to go in there before it was a museum. Before it was a museum i'll tell you how it looked: there were cobwebs hanging down from the squeaky, old roof, black swooping bats, young rats scurrying around the ground and broken glass windows. Only ghosts went in there!

Now, the museum tells you about haunted things! It is called SPOOKY LIFE. One day a school class were going on a school trip there, they were very excited because they all loved scary things, except one and that was Rosie. She was scared of ghosts, devils, vampires and witches. Her friend said, "Do you want to be my partner?"

Rosie said: "Yes please."

So they all set off on the coach two by two.

"Don't be scared", said Rosie's friend.

"I'll try not to", said Rosie.

She held her hand.

Eventually they arrived at SPOOKY LIFE. Everyone was excited, one boy shouted "CAN WE GO IN YET?!" at the top of his voice. Once inside they went straight for the ghost figures, they looked ghastly like living people. Just then one of the children went missing! the teacher was horrified.

All of a sudden, there were ghosts flying around the dusty room - making terrifying noises.

"WE ARE GOING TO CHAIN YOU UP FOREVER!", screeched the ghosts.

Witches, vampires, devils, scurrying and swooping bats came to join the ghosts. All the windows broke and just at that very moment a scary, green, yellow eyed sharp toothed monster came stomping out of a crashed grave. Rosie was the most scared - but everyone was terrified. The horrible monster grabbed everybody and threw them into a dark cage.

A wailing sound of a police car could be heard... the ghosts reacted by hiding in the cellar. When the policeman came, the teacher explained that the ghosts and ghouls were hiding in the cellar. A special policeman brought some salt to get rid of the creatures. However, when they got to the cellar, the ghosts had all disappeared, as if by magic!

WAS IT ALL A DREAM?!
