HOLIDAY: I am on holiday from Saturday July 10 for one week; so next week's column (Friday July 16) will have general articles in and anything you have informed me about. If you need anything printing in the column which you have not told me about, can you please send it to the newspaper. Sorry for any inconvenience.

SAMARITANS: Are holding a coffee morning on Saturday, July 10 from 9.45am-12 noon and will be playing 3 games of fun prize bingo. Please visit them on Charlotte Street, Wakefield which is at the back of the Magnet pub.

FAMILY SERVICE: There will be a lively and enjoyable service suitable for all the family at St. John's Church on Sunday, July 11 at 10am with the intriguing title 'The Weatherman'. A creche is provided for young children and coffee is served after the service. Please come along and join us.

SALVATION ARMY: The Salvation Army holds various activities throughout the week. A warm invitation is extended to all to attend any of these events: Monday, 12.15pm, light lunch for pensioners, 1.30pm Home League meeting; Tuesday, 9.15am-11.30am cafe and shop (1 day); Friday 1.30pm, craft crafts; Saturday, 9.15am-11.30am, Sally Anne's Caf; Sunday,July 11at 10.15am Anniversary Sunday led by Rachel Gotobed. Monday, July 12 at 7.30pm, music for a summer evening, special guests, The Yorkshire Fellowship band, 3 admission charge on the door.

STRAWBERRY FAIR: Calder Grove & Durkar fundraisers for Wakefield Hospice are holding a Strawberry Fair at the New Inn Durkar on Sunday, July 11 noon-4pm. 2.50 Strawberries / Cream and a Scone. There is entertainment for the kids and a safe play area, please come along, everyone welcome to join us.

WAKEFIELD CATHEDRAL: Sheffield Youth Orchestra invites you to a gala concert with internationally acclaimed pianist Ben Frith on Saturday, July 10 at 7.00pm, tickets 8 / 6 from the Cathedral Bookshop or on the door (proceeds to the Cathedral's development, Project 2013). Come in to the Cathedral and see our new exhibition about Project 2013 progress. For Project 2013 a Summer Cabaret in the Yard Bar (Henry Boons) on Sunday, July 18 at 7.30pm. WAKEFIELD HOSPICE "TEA at TEN": Saturday, July 10 at 10am- noon in St Austin's Church Rooms. Cake stalls, books, videos, tombola and raffle. Everyone welcome to support this worthy cause.

FASHION SHOW: Thursday, July 15 at 7pm in St Austin's. Entrance 2 including tea and biscuits. The bar will be open. Proceeds to the Catholic Women's League National Charity Help for Heroes and other CWL charities.

NEW SOUTHGATE SURGERY WALKING GROUP: It is set up by the NHS to encourage people to walk and has been running for quite a few years. They walk every Tuesday, meeting at the surgery for 10am, come rain or shine! We car share to the start of the walk, the majority of which are roughly withinfive miles of Wakefield. Next week's walk is Fairburn Ings, Tuesday, July 13.

St MICHAELS CHURCH: Coffee club every Monday from 1.00pm-3.00pm, As always we are in need of volunteers to help out at all coffee clubs and to be befrienders.
