Couple face £8,000 drugs supply charges

A COUPLE from an upmarket apartment complex stand accused of possessing £7,000 worth of cocaine and £1,300 worth of ecstasy with intent to supply.

Paul Hannah, 30, and Laura Rhodes, 26, were at Wakefield Magistrates’ Court yesterday to answer charges of possessing the drugs at their Zion Chapel flat on George Street.

Rhodes, now of High Eggborough Lane, Goole, has denied possession of 181 grams of cocaine and 520 ecstasy tablets with intent to supply on April 25.

Hannah, of George Street, did not enter a plea to the same charges and possession of criminal property.

Magistrate Ian Lord said the case should be heard at Leeds Crown Court and bailed the couple.

They face a further hearing before Wakefield magistrates on June 17, when their case is expected to be committed to Leeds.
