Launching determination
A martial arts duo who made it to the final of ITV's Britain's Got Talent shared some lethal moves with taekwondo students in Ossett this week.
Yorkshire lads Liam Richards, 21, and Danny Ball, 23, known together as Strike, brought their acrobatic style to a group of youngsters at Ossett Martial Arts Academy on Tuesday.
After teaching the group some kicks and punches synchronised to music, the pair flipped into action for a dazzling demonstration.
They spent the evening encouraging hard work, and their young students, ranging in age from four to 14, were desperate to make a good impression on the television stars.
Liam, from Sheffield, said: "It has been a really fun evening – these kids are very dedicated and have obviously been practising hard.
"It's not just about the physical things – we always stress the importance of working hard and staying focused. Martial arts are about life skills and building confidence."
Jan Crookes, co-founder of Ossett Martial Arts Academy, said the duo used to help out at the club before they were famous.
She said: "They used to train in Doncaster and now and again they would come here to work with the students.
"The lads are extremely talented, so it was a privilege to have them here again. They've taught the students some new moves and have hopefully motivated them to work more with music."
Strike were a popular act in the second series of Britain's Got Talent, which was eventually won by 14-year-old street dancer George Sampson.
They still tour the country working in schools and sports clubs, and said they are looking to incorporate their programme into leisure centres.
