Plans are due for city swimming pool

PLANS are progressing on the creation of a new multi-million pound city centre swimming pool.

A planning application is due to be submitted in late March or April for the 10m pool on Sun Lane. Consultation on the initial plans for the scheme took place at the end of last year when around 250 people had their say.

Coun Denise Jeffery, deputy leader and cabinet member for sport, said: The feedback has been really positive."

She said a number of issues were raised including parking, location and disabled access. A key feature to be included is a Changing Places toilet and changing facility, for people with profound learning disabilities, spinal injuries, multiple sclerosis or brain injury.
