Psychics to raise money for Luke

PSYCHICS are to raise money for a little boy with autism.

Clairvoyant mediums Jayne Flintoff and Gray Davies were touched after reading our article about the plight of Luke Firth, eight. His family need to raise 10,000 for pioneering treatment.

The story back in March told how parents John and Sharon Firth, of Stanley Ferry, hoped to fly a consultant over from America to help their son. They also spoke of their fundraising activities.

Mrs Firth was later contacted by Miss Flintoff who wanted to help. And now she plans to stage a mediumship demonstration later this month to help drum up funds for Luke.

Mum Mrs Firth said: "I take my hat off to this lady. She phoned me out of the blue saying she wanted to help us. I was gobsmacked. I didn't think there were still people out there that were kind- hearted enough to read an article about a local little boy and want to help. I was really touched to be honest."

She also told how they had nearly raised the 10,000 and hope a consultant will jet in next spring. Mrs Firth also described of her son's progress since he was last featured in the newspaper.

She added: "His speech is really coming along now. He is volunteering new words all the time. He is becoming a little chatterbox in his own little world. There's no conversation speech but words are coming."

The psychic event takes place at Woodkirk Valley Country Club, Leeds Road, Tingley on Friday, September 24 from 7pm. Tickets for the mediumship demonstration cost 10 each. Private readings cost 15 each for 20 minutes.
